Philadelphia's eviction moratorium is expiring on Nov. 8, and evictions could start as early as this weekend. Right now Philadelphia is seeing widespread community spread of COVID, and likely will need to go back into more serious stay at home orders... and Councilmembers Domb, Squilla, Gilmore Richardson, Bass, and Quiñones Sanchez want to allow evictions.

join us in CONTACTing THESE COUNCIL MEMBERS and tell them we need to pass the moratorium extension!

How can people stay home when we take away their homes? People will be forced out onto the streets, into shelters, or in with relatives and friends. This makes it hard or impossible to social distance, puts stress on older vulnerable residents taking in family members, and could ultimately be a death sentence to those evicted or those who open their homes to take them in.

Our shelter system is already overburdened and COVID is spreading in shelters at twice the rate it's spreading among people with houses. Where are the 2,000 families facing eviction going to go?!?

Watch ACT UP Philadelphia with other activists call out Councilmember Allan Domb for conflict of interest and for planning a super-spreader event.
